Yes, it helped me. I'm still new to all this, so any step "out of the usual" lets me a bit insecure, but I'm learning little by little how to deal with WordPress. I've read their instructions and your instructions, and after I noticed somebody has invaded my server to change font sizes in style.css, I decided to upgrade. Hopefully 2.1.2 is good.
