My Micra
|
Michelle now drives my 2000 (W reg) Nissan Micra 16v Celebration. I've done
some basic modifications to it.
Micra's are not common cars to modify, which is one of the reasons I
chose it - so it'll be a real unique car! I'd seriously recommend
the Nissan Micra to anyone - it's a great little car (although feels
rather underpowered now I'm used to a larger engine!).
Just for security, I've blanked out the registration number on all
of the pictures of my car on this site. There will be more pictures
soon, once I've got films developed and scanned them in!

Carbon-Fibre headlight protectors - A simple, subtle but stylish
addition, these things make the Micra's headlights much more attractive
and distinctive. I picked these up from Demon Tweeks, they were pretty
cheap and well worth the money. Helps avoid stone-chipped headlights
too! They were supplied by Demon Tweeks.

ICE - In-Car Entertainment is provided by a Pioneer 6100
CD player head unit, pictured in the part below about the neon lighting.
It's running the standard speakers in the front doors, which are actually
surprisingly powerful for factory speakers, and a pair of nice Pioneer
6x9's on the rear parcel shelf to provide the proper power and detailed
sound. Body-shaking bass is provided by a 12" Pioneer sub, running from
a Longmill amp.
Interior Neon Lighting - To make the inside of the car more
distinctive in the dark, I'm installing various neon lighting. So
far, the only neon in place is a "sound-to-light" neon installed on
the dash above the stereo headunit, set up to flash to the beat
of the music. The pictures below show the dash in the light, and how it
looks in the dark. The picture in the dark doesn't do the light justice,
it looks much better in real life.

Alloys - The car is running on 15" Fox 5 Evo wheels, and 195/45
Hankook tyres. The standard wheels are only something like 145, so this
has given the car much better handling and made it stick the the road.
The Micra's suspension is a bit soft for my liking, it rolls in corners a bit,
but it still handles very well, and can take corners confidently at speed
without worries. It's nice and predictable, the only time it really wants
to get out of line is if you lift off the gas quickly in a corner - even then
the back end steps out predictably and progressively, so it's easy to correct.
I've got some newer, better quality photos of the car to go on here soon,
so I'll be re-designing this page fully. I've also de-badged the car and
removed the door trims, making the doors look much more sleek and stream-lined,
so check back soon for a full update!
